Named after legendary explorer <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ferdinand_Magellan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ferdinand Magellan<\/a> and located not far from the South Celestial Pole, it can be seen by naked eyes mostly from the southern hemisphere and usually takes the central stage in many nightscapes. Deep imaging of the galaxy reveals a pretty complicated structure of stellar matter along the central bar and many emission nebulae where new stars are being born. Most prominent is the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tarantula_Nebula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tarantula Nebula<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Image was taken from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.cz\/rooms\/42115568\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maria Julieth Restrepo stargazing place<\/a> nearby Pucon, Chile, on 16 December 2020.
