Lunar Passage over Brno<\/p><\/div>
\nOn May 5th, 2023, the Full Moon appeared over the Czech city Brno slightly darker than usual–when rising, it was close to Earth’s umbra and a little bit darker on its left edge as the penumbral lunar eclipse<\/a> progressed. Even if the high cirrus clouds later then interrupted the phenomenon, the view over the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul<\/a> (or Petrov) was just magical. The image shows the whole passage of the Moon slowly moving away from the Earth’s shadow, between moonrise (some 50 minutes after the eclipse’s maximum) and the end of the eclipse when hiding over thick cirrus clouds and completely moving away from the invisible edge of the penumbra. In the meantime, Petrov turned on its decent illumination, making the scene truly romantic.<\/p>\n
