Red Sprite above Poland – cut<\/p><\/div>\n

Severe stormy weather over central Europe brings one of the most spectacular but also mysterious phenomena: The Red Sprites<\/a>. Firstly observed in 1989, they became a target for many specialized photographers and videographers to improve their understanding of them. So far we know now is the fact, the fragments-of-seconds flashes are counter-discharge of CG+ lightning above massive thunderstorms (nitrogen emissions ), usually in altitudes between 50 and 95 km. This morning, on 29 June 2024, I was truly lucky with a distant one. It appeared over about 380 km distant thunderstorm, which was moving from Poland to Belarus and Litva, while observing from Z\u00e1hradn\u00e9, Slovakia.<\/p>\n
