The cove of summer night<\/p><\/div>June nights are so exciting. The Milky Way<\/a>, view to our starry home, gets up above the head with bright stars well known as summer triangle<\/a>. Brightest star of the triangle is Vega<\/a>, distant about 25 light years from Earth. The star became very popular especially due to legendary Carl Sagan’s<\/a> novel Contact<\/a> (last year had 30th anniversary<\/a>). Remarkable clouds of interstellar dust<\/a> hide light from the distant stars along the entire length of the Milky Way, which is captivating even visually. The water was pretty calm, but interesting waves<\/a> can be found in the sky. Greenish and reddish tinted, they are caused chemiluminescence<\/a> in high atmosphere, known as airglow<\/a>. The sky is not pretty dark. First at all because of harmful light pollution<\/a> of far industrial area, but also due to fact that the image was taken just 9 days after summer solstice and there is no astronomical night<\/a> over Czech Republic until 11 July. The foreground is beach of a pleasant cove of the Se\u010d reservoir.
