The huge SAR red arc (<a href=\"https:\/\/spaceweatherarchive.com\/2021\/11\/22\/3308\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stable Auroral Red arcs <\/a>&#8211; a sign of thermal energy escaping into the upper layers of the atmosphere) was overshadowed by prominent aurora columns that were visible to the naked eye even above denser cloud cover. For a moment it looked like a huge candle in the sky. What a great start to 2025!
