Staying about 55 km (32 miles) south from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/products\/virtualtours\/chajnantor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chajnantor Plaetau<\/a>, home of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.almaobservatory.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ALMA observatory<\/a>, you can spot the summit of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mi%C3%B1iques\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">volcano Mi\u00f1iques<\/a>. Surrounded by very slightly illuminated clouds <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petrhoralek.com\/?p=2407\">by the setting young Moon<\/a>, it makes perfect foreground for the Milky Way with wonderful <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emission_nebula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">emission nebulae<\/a> close to the southern sky pole. This way is ostensibly directed the highway, getting your view trough the front car window to the majestic <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Large_Magellanic_Cloud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Large Magellanic cloud<\/a>. As a bonus, an isolated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atoptics.co.uk\/highsky\/hgrav.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gravity waves<\/a> appeared in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/videos\/esocast78a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">airglow<\/a> just below the dwarf galaxy. <\/p>\n<p><strong>2020 Christmas note:<\/strong> If you take a closer look at this image, you can spot a large angel flying over the Mi\u00f1iques volcano, northern Chile. Especially in these times, the symbol angel is so welcomed. We have Christmas time, where according to Evangelium the angel was the one who convinced Three Kings not to go back to Jerusalem and say about Jesus Christ to Herodes. Also, angels are symbols of care, which was needed this year so much due to the pandemic. Carina Nebula can be also taken as a symbol a bit as it is place of new-born stars. Same as symbol of Christmas celebration. The image was taken 4 years ago, but I believe the display in it is most actual now.<\/p>\n<p>This image was captured during <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/videos\/esocast88a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESO UHD expedition<\/a> on 10 April 2016.
