Pre-solstice Penubral Lunar Eclipse<\/p><\/div>This pre-solstice penumbral lunar eclipse<\/a> on June 5th, 2020, was not easy to see due to wild rainy\/cloudy weather over the Czech Republic. Eventually, I found a beautiful spot nearby Hrobice, from where the penubrally eclipsed Moon rose over Kuneticka Hora castle<\/a>. It was taken at 19:16 UTC, so only 9 minutes before the maximum of the eclipse (the maximum itself was cloudy again). Used Canon 6D, 500mm lens, f5.6, ISO 640, 1\/20s.<\/p>\n

Eclipse, Castle and Red Poppy<\/p><\/div>June’s Full Moon is–by folklore–called “Strawberry Moon”. Yesterday evening, the Moon was a bit darker on its south-west edge, as it approached Earth’s penumbra. While observing the phenomenon on field of Hrobice, no strawberry was around, however something red made the scene symbolic anyway. Two flowers of Red Poppy<\/a> (Papaver rhoeas) just after the rain, beautifully reflected the moonlight. In the distance, above thin fog, you can see the Kuneticka Hora castle nicely illuminated, below the Nem\u010dice village can be seen and above clouds full of rain were just moving away. Used Canon 6D, Pentacon 135mm lens, f4.5, ISO 800, vary exposures (HDR) and different focusing of the lens (to keep focused all objects in the scene).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
