Colors of the starry south pole<\/p><\/div>\n

The amazingly clear sky on Waiotahi beach of New Zealand (nearby Island View Car Park of Opotiki) on 21st April 2014 allowed me to do this composite image of the south sky pole. If you know where and how, you can easily create a portrait of maybe the most beautiful part of the Milky way in the southern sky – surrounding of the south sky pole. Except the colors of stars in Crux<\/em>, Alpha Centauri<\/em> or biggest globular cluster Omega Centauri<\/em> there are also red hydrogen nebulae like Carina<\/em> or Keyhole<\/em>. The human eye can’t see this beauty, but just with some special equipment it is very easy to shot that. These part of the sky are moving very slowly during the night, it’s because of the angle distance from the pole. So even with tripod, without any astro-tracking mount, you can make something like this image. Used Canon 450D Rebel Xi IR filter Modified, Samyang 24 mm, f4, ISO 1600, composition of 4 single images, each of it 32×25 s, darkframes applied (captured from tripod).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
