Dining in Dqae: Better than TV
Have you ever dreamt about dining under the
Milky Way? Well, trust me – it’s better than watching TV! When I came to Greg Laws’ large
farm Dqae Qare in Botswana, I didn’t even think about something like that. But thanks to Greg’s hospitality and incredible helpfulness me and my friends could enjoy this unusual experience. As we were dining during the twilight, the center of Milky Way with the
Scorpius constellation above our heads slowly appeared. It was so bright and full of structures by dark nebulae that in one moment we just couldn’t eat and we were only gazing the stars. Not so far from an abandoned
bushmen village we felt like in the middle of African “bushy” nowhere, taking only care about ourselves with potential presence of
poisoned snakes and
scorpions. Dangerous? Not at all, exciting! In the end, the only scorpion we saw was the biggest and the most disatant one – in the sky! Captured on 11th September 2015 and used Canon 6D Baader modified, Samyang 24 mm, f2.8, ISO 8000, 54×15 seconds stereographic panorama. I would like to thank to
Safra-Go company for realizing this trip.
