“I wasn’t there that morning when my father passed away. I didn’t get to tell him all the things I had to say” sings Mike&Mechanics in their legendary song. The exact words and the song itself came to my mind a few days ago when sitting on this shore of the Seč lake. My father used to fish on this exact spot and frequently used to take me here as a young boy. Now there is emptiness. There were lots of struggles between me and him, but still, I feel lots of goodness he left in the next generation. But thinking about where is the world now, I only hope the goodness from our parents and grandparents is strong enough to overcome the current problems and make the world at least as good as they wanted to make for us during their living years.
The images were taken during dark days (5th and 7th March, 2021) without a moonlight, allowing me to capture the spring Zodiacal Light and winter Milky Way crossing each other high in the sky, about two weeks before the vernal equinox. Annually, this season gives us here in the northern hemisphere the best time for enjoying the constellations of the winter sky with a faint column of the Zodiacal Light. Enjoy the view from the shore of the Seč lake by an illuminated hotel in distance. Enjoy the reflections of the stars from Orion and Taurus constellations, the Zodiacal Light itself, and also faint distant objects like nebulae or Galaxy in Andromeda. Up above, you can also spot planet Mars by bluish Pleiades cluster.
Used Canon 6D modified, Samyang 24 mm, f2.2, ISO 8000 and single 15s exposures for both panoramas, taken from tripod (with no tracking)
