Today on Nov. 9, 2023, by noon over central Europe, the Moon covered Venus in broad daylight, bringing the opportunity to capture a very unusual view of daytime Venus “last quarter” also with the Moon. Since the weather over Ždiar, Slovakia was luckily not that cloudy, I made it happen to catch the whole sequence of the phenomenon with 4-minute intervals before the occultation and after it. Using a telephoto lens with a 1.4x telecoverter, the focal length was 1540 mm, allowing me to reveal even some details on the Moon. The weather was not perfect, some cirrus clouds made the observation less clear, but still a beautiful view even to the naked eye.
Used Canon Ra, MTO 1100/10.5 plus 1.4x teleconverter, ISO 3200, 1/1250s (Moon), ISO 16000, 1/8000s (Venus), Vixen GP-2 mount.
