On 12 August 2025, the early morning’s beautiful conjunction of Venus and Jupiter over Seč Lake, Czech Republic, appeared just before the dawn in the bright moonlight. I caught this romantic scene around 3 am CEST while both planets nicely reflected their lights on the water like nothing else so bright in the sky just behind the calmly parked yacht ready for sailing later then on this warm day. Since the conjunction occured also during the maximum of annual Perseid meteor shower, I used this romantic scene as a foreground for this year’s Perseid image. Perseids were captured between 12 and 15 August, mostly, however, during the morning of the conjunction, on 12 August. Data were collected together with Josef Kujal.
For the foreground, used Canon Ra, Sigma 50mm, f1.8, ISO 500, panorama of 20 single 4s exposores from tripod. For the meteors, Canon 6D MII, Samyang 12mm, f2.8, ISO 2500, and 20s exposures from tripod. Meteors registered to the foreground image.
