The twilight planets

The twilight planets

Just today, on 3rd March 2018, two twilight planets appeared in the sky just after the sunset. Brighter Venus was joined by Mercury. Both inner planets pretty quickly set just after I spotted them, but it was enough to capture this spontaneous multiexposure, showing their motion in the sky every 15 seconds over Leškova Hůrka hamlet in the Czech Republic. The planets were just about 1 degree apart, easily visible with naked eyes. While Venus will take a central stage for next months in the evening sky, the Mercury is visible just for next weeks. This is definitely the reason I am so happy to capture them both “side by side”. Used Canon 6D, Pentacon 135mm, f3.2, ISO 200, 99×1/5 s.
