Dreamlike night over Mara

Imagine you spend time in a houseboat on turqoise clear lake while young moon sets over distant hills and silver belt of the Milky Way appears in the sky. You only step outside, on the boat terrace, where fishing rods guards the underwater wild but all feels so calm like never ever before. Like this moment was just created only for you. This is what I felt when photographed the scene over Liptovska Mara lake, Slovakia, on 13th October 2018. Even if the lake is built close by main Slovak highway, you truly feel you are in a deep nature while walking on its shore. All around the lake you can spot many summints of close Low and High Tatras, giving even more exciting oportunities to watch beautiful night sky as the light pollution is not such strong in these areas. I don’t know if the fisherman inside the houseboat really cought his dreamt fish, but I am definitely sure he was aware of uniqueness of that place.

The bright object over horizon is young Moon. You can also spot planet Mars (over the houseboat). The image was taken exactly 2 years before the 2020 Mars opposition. Used Canon 6D Baader IR Modified, Samyang 24 mm, f2.8, ISO 8000, 20x15s single shots panorama from tripod.
