Spotting the Mercury in front of the Sun

On Monday May 9th, 2016, the planet Mercury appeared in fron of the Sun. The rare phenomenon was wordly expected and so many talented photographers decided to take a chance for the best shot. And they were really successful. I didn’t have that huge ambitions cause I wanted to enjoy it visually the most, same as the last time 13 years ago. But as the phenomenon took about 7 hours in Garching, Germany, I had enough time for both. When the Sun went down over the trees, just a few minutes before the sunset, it got a bit fainter and reddish to get some shot even without a special filter. And that was my moment. Moment of this magical shot. The Mercury is the small black dot on the bottom of the Sun’s face. Used Canon 6D Baader IR modified, Tamron 70-300mm@300mm, f45, ISO 100, 1/4000s exposure, captured from tripod.
