On August 11-12-13, 2024, an Aurora Borealis appeared even over the Czech Republic, central Europe. It was a faint but beautiful Aurora Borealis with many waves during the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower. For this time-lapse, taken from Ústupky (49.82N, 15.65E) in a period between 23:28-2:13 CEST I used Canon 6D and Samyang 14mm. You can also see Jupiter and Mars close in the sky by Hyades and Pleiades clusters. What a view! Would you like to purchase a high-quality copy for print? Find out more here.
Two bright fireballs from 13 August 2024, appear near the Milky Way in Cygnus and Lyra constellations as they were captured from Ústupky, Czech Republic. The red color comes from even unique phenomenon of this location: The SAR (Stable auroral red; dawn from the center) and the Aurora Borealis (upper part of the image). In the upper left corner, you can also spot Persistent Train after another fireball (which was not captured). Used Canon Ra and Sigma 35mm, F1.8, ISO 5000, panorama of 10s single exposures (foreground) and Canon 6D, Samyang 12mm, f2.8, ISO 5000, 30 exposures (meteors).
And I also took some nice shots of the Aurora over Seč lake with Canon Ra and Sigma 35mm, f 1.8, ISO 4000, 6s exposures from tripod.
And here is Aurora over Seč lake the nigh after, on 13 August in the morning, with several Perseids and Big Dipper reflecting in the water. Captured with Canon Ra and Sigma 35mm, f 1.8, ISO 4000, four 6s exposures from tripod.
