Reaching the Gods

Reaching the Gods

Same but different. Since you liked so much my latest image “within reach“, here comes brand new one. This time, however, from the platform the ESO Paranal Observatory, one of the world’s largest ground based observatories. About a month ago I tried to reach the gods there… well, figuratively speaking. The brightest object in the sky is planet Jupiter, in ancient Greek times the god Zeus. And just above the Milky Way arch, another bright object is Saturn, in Greek legend Cronus, cruel Titan and Zeus’ father. Giants behind me, VLT telescopes, and the gods just within reach. This is how amazingly you can feel at Paranal, under the dark starry sky with no light pollution around. Wish you could feel the same…

Used Canon 6D Baader modified, Saymag 24mm, f1.8, ISO 10000, 64x15s panorama from tripod.
