Yesterday’s Flower Moon, on 1st May, 2026, was after a long while I chose one for beautiful composition with the famous Czech Kunetic Castle. As the Moon rose up just abou 20 minutes after the sunset, the “blue hour” made the sky bright blue and the castle too. When capturing the immersive moonrise near Osičky village, I had the castle about 13 km away from me and the whole view offered dramatic composition when using a 1.4m telephoto lense. The Moon rose red and wooly due to the optical inhomogeneity of our atmosphere and I couldn’t be luckier because the sky was incredibly clear.
Used Nikon Z6III, 1400mm telephoto lense, f10, ISO3200, 1/250s, durable tripod.
