The Cove of Aquarius

The Seč lake, May 8th, 2021, in the morning just before the daybreak. Truly calm water by ashore where a moored barge takes the central stage while majestic summer Milky Way appears in the sky. And then it happens – a green bright meteor on left just “heats the heavens” and makes a truly beautiful show. It is even more noticeable with knowing the meteor comes from the annual shower Eta-Aquarids, caused by debris of Halley’s comet. Just a while after, this romantic moment in this cove of Aquarius visits another celestial visitor, but quite much interplanetary one. On right, you can see light trail of the International Space Station. Four brightest stars – three of them by Milky Way (Vega, Altair, and Deneb) and one such alone – the Arcturus star – can be seen as well. Despite the harmful light pollution from cities over the horizon, the early morning with one Eta-Aquarid meteor in the sky was just so romantic. Used Canon 6D modified, Sigma 50mm, f2.2, ISO 5000, 28x40s panorama from tripod and Vixen U mount.
