Te Mata peak again! Great place to astrophotography didn’t dissapoint even on 20th June 2014 ad allowed me to make new portraits of colorful southern night sky. This time the main part was played by sheeps on one small summit with Magellan clouds above. So close and so far in same time. And red airglow even stronger! I assumed that I am the only person amazed by this sky performance. Well, but who can blame sheeps? First image is just one single exposure made by Canon 6D, Samyang 24 mm, f2, ISO 4000, exp. 20 s. Second image is panorama of 6x15s exposures and the bright city down there on right side is Hastings.

The third image is quite different – shows two small gallactic beauties in the southern sky, which never get tired a viewer. Yes, spoken about Magellanic clouds. In that direction is nothing than just small farms, river, hills, Pacific ocean and the universe. How simple, how deep. Used Canon 6D, Samyang 24 mm, f2, ISO 4000, 87×10 s; tripod, darkframes applied.
