Fire Rainbow over Czech Republic

Yesterday, on June 16, 2026, from Seč Lake, Czech Republic, I was a witness to a Circumhorizontal Arch or “Fire Rainbow” among laypeople. This halo phenomenon is less common than the circular 22-degree halo; in the Czech Republic, it is even rarer. Why? Because for its occurrence, the Sun needs to be at least 58 degrees high over the horizon, which is only an “around-solstice” situation when the Sun gets just a little bit higher around noon on these days. And yesterday we had such specific clouds in the sky just at noon, so I was lucky enough to capture it over Seč Lake. It was so prominent that many people saw it very easily and were questioning later that day what they were witnessing.
